What to Expect
Physical
- Loses baby teeth; permanent teeth emerge from age 6
- Develops strength, coordination, and stamina for sports
- Fine motor skills allow neat handwriting and detailed artwork
- Steady growth; girls may begin early puberty by 10–11
Cognitive
- Reads and writes independently with growing fluency
- Applies logical step-by-step thinking to solve problems
